About Me
Hi! I'm Marianne and I'm a writer and Children's Librarian. I've been working in public libraries for the last 7 years. I received my BA in Literature from Ramapo College and my Master's in Library Science from St. John's University. Working in a library, especially with kids, is incredibly rewarding. I feel lucky to be able to share my passion for books with the kids in my community. One of my other passions, though, has always been writing.
I've loved writing since I was a kid, and always dreamed of sharing my writing with others. I've been fortunate to do that a few times through various publications, but now I've decided it is time to start my own blog. My goal with this blog is to help others not feel alone. If a person is able to connect through my writing, that will be the greatest reward for me. I'm particularly interested in writing about mental health. I've been on my own mental health journey my whole life, so this topic is very important to me. Through my writing, I hope to help with stopping the stigma that surrounds mental health, and to encourage more open discussions about it. On a side note, some facts about me are I like to practice yoga, hike, spend time with family and friends, and my dogs Abby and Paula. I'd also love to travel abroad one day, particularly to Italy. And I hope to one day publish a novel. |
